Hola, my name is Joan Rivera. I’m a professional singer from Puerto Rico (based in NYC). I’m bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. I’ve trained since childhood in multiple vocal styles such as pop, rock, classical, Broadway/musical theatre, jazz, and Salsa/Latin jazz.
I’ve trained in musical theatre performance and acting for over 10 years. I’m also a professional voice-over artist with over 10 years of experience, including radio hosting, TV and radio commercials, and phone directories/answer machines. My education includes two years of Drama at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus and a semester at Berklee College of Music. I will soon graduate with a BFA from AMDA's integrated musical theatre program.
Additionally, I’m well-versed in public speaking, which has been extremely useful for all kinds of hosting and working as master of ceremonies for concerts and events. I can bring a special flair and flavor to any project, as well as personality and heart.
